The objective of this work is to analyze the length of time workers remain in their jobs,
estimating the probability distribution of workers' length of employment, that is, the
period corresponding to the date of admission to the date of dismissal. This analysis will
be carried out for the municipality of João Pessoa in 2020 and takes into account factors
such as color, gender, education and economic activity sector. In effect, this makes it
possible to estimate the average length of stay for a profile of workers in their job or the
probability of a worker staying a certain period in this job. The method used is the
survival analysis, considering the risk model and the log-normal regression. The results
suggest that there are differences between job stability according to color, sex, worker's
education and the companies' sector of activity. |
