Resumo:
Currently, in all social environments, be they communication, political, educational, private and
public, it is possible to see a growing debate about various social issues that were previously
neglected. Gender distinctions, for example, and how they impact the lives of women in
different spaces, has become a topic that provides valuable discussions. In the mathematical
environment, however, it is clear that some of them are little addressed, among these points is
the female representation in the university environment. Although the population of women in
the classroom, whether as students or professors, in publications and in management positions,
has increased, the debate that portrays and discusses these issues is still in its infancy in Brazil.
Therefore, this document, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, aims to provide a
reflection on the distribution of positions in the management of Mathematics courses and how
gender relations are linked to it. Thus, a foundation based on gender issues in different
environments is elaborated, describing how the distribution of management positions in
Mathematics courses works, presenting the data obtained, making a description and discussion 9
about the data, which are significant for the critical understanding of how women are still held
in standards.
