No Roda Viva, o discurso de Enéas: Meu nome é líder-intelectual-intervencionista

Abstract

This scientific article aims to analyze the speech given by Enéas Ferreira Carneiro in a discussion on the television’s program called Roda Viva, shown by TV Cultura in 1994, during his campaign to claim the presidency of that year. The main objective is to identify the behavior and objectives of the former candidate for the presidency of the republic, taking as a reference political works in addition to his speeches and attitudes in the program in question. As for the method of analysis, the entire discussion was transcribed and questions and crucial moments were separated to define what kind of political discourse and, consequently, what kind of character Enéas exercised, based on the work Estado do Espetáculo (1978) of Roger-Gérard Schwartzenberg. In conclusion, it is possible to refer, from the dialogues and positions proposed through your speech, how the analyzed candidate behaved in the face of the journalists' questions present there to interview him, which referred to positions of order and discipline, as practiced in military environments, in addition to defending concentration on oneself as a solution to all possible future problems. As a result, the PRONA’s candidate was assigned the character of intellectual-interventionist leader.
